The Quick Start Remote Training consists of (6) 2-Hour training modules that can be purchased and scheduled separately or in combination. Module 1 and 2 are highly recommended.

Module 1: NetFlow Auditor Customization (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Set up Business Groups.
  • Set up Device Groups.
  • Set up Interface Groups.
  • Define custom applications.
  • Modify QoS (ToS/DSCP) descriptions.

Module 2: Overview and Real-time Navigation (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Interpret and understand the power of the overview screen.
  • At a glance identify potential abnormalities on the network.
  • Quickly “Click down” to find top talkers/applications/etc.
  • Use standard reports (filters).
  • Use baseline reports.
  • Use root cause reports.

Module 3: Creating Filters/Scheduling/Emailing Reports (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Create custom filters.
  • Create reports for specific users within the organization.
  • Schedule reports to be run periodically, automatically, set and forget.
  • Write reports to other servers/locations.
  • Email reports periodically.
  • Use emailed reports for daily hot items.

Module 4: Forensics and Security (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Identify ping/port scans.
  • Identify network anomalies (most changed applications, possible P2P traffic, etc).
  • Use NetFlow Auditor for compliance and regulatory needs.

Module 5: Baselining (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Setup network baselining.
  • Interpret baseline reports.
  • Use NetFlow Auditor for capacity planning.
  • Use NetFlow Auditor for verify SLA guarantees.

Module 6: Alerting (2 Hours)

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Set thresholds for application usage.
  • Set thresholds for QoS compliance.
  • Set threshold for other metrics (flow and packet rates) and why.

*Service Provider Module Add-on Session (4 Hours)

Maximum 4 Attendees Cost: $1000

This module is designed for ISP/Telcos and MSPs with specialized requirements.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Create and interpret AS Number reports.
  • Create and interpret 95 percentile reports.
  • Configure customer specific reports.
  • Use Netflow Auditor for billing.
  • Why and when to use data collection tuning.

Services: NetFlow Auditor Remote Engineer Services

A virtual expert that is an extension of your staff.

Leverage the services of an expert NetFlow Auditor Application Engineer to set up custom reports and filters, create alarms and alerts, define business groups and applications/application groups unique to your environment.

Use this service to have one of our engineers be part of periodic meetings that identify hot items related to the network and identify the information from NetFlow Auditor that can assist in solving a problem or be used to help with a project. Relevant custom filters, reports or alarms can then be configured by the NetFlow Auditor Engineer. Your experts can now focus on the problem resolution or project deployment armed with intelligent network information.

This time can also be used for targeted knowledge transfer sessions on how to use specific aspects of NetFlow Auditor and NetFlow Analysis.
